Minister for IT, Electronics and HRD Nara Lokesh on Monday said their thrust on Speed of Doing Business is attracting many investors and corporate honchos to CII Partnership Summit being held in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.

Briefing reporters here on the arrangements, Lokesh who heads Group of Ministers on the summit, said they are highlighting a cluster-based approach and brand image of CBN (Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu) to bring many delegates to the two-day conclave.

Buttressing on impact of Speed of Doing Business, he said big ticket projects like Google AI Data Center Hub, steel plant by ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel (India), Cognizant, TCS have been clinched in a record time.

Having a dig at YSRCP for its criticism on USD 15 billion Google project, he said it's funny that some of its party leaders claimed credit for doing the ground work to bring Google AI Data Center Hub to Visakhapatnam.

Instead of whipping up parochial and regional feelings and trying to gain narrow political mileage, there is a need for joint effort by the government, entrepreneurs and the people to make Andhra Pradesh No. 1 in all fields.

He said top-notch transparency and short and long-term plans to accelerate development are being showcased by harping on huge investment potential in shipping, renewable energy, port-led development, aerospace, defence, agri-based, logistics and petrochemicals along with tourism and education.

Union Minister for Trade and Commerce Piyush Goyal will be present for three days in the city along with several Central Ministers, key officials and industry leaders.

Lokesh said many are interested to set up Global Capability Centers (GCC) but there is need to invest a lot in creating required co-working space.
